Muay Thai Boxing Gyms For Beginners In Bangkok

Fancy pushing yourself to your limits and stepping outside of your comfort zone? Want to get fit, build confidence and learn how to defend yourself? If your answer is ‘yes’ and this sort of challenge sounds like something you’d enjoy, we have you covered with one of the best martial arts on the planet (Muay Thai Boxing).

This is a sport I have done myself back home in Manchester as a teenager when I was probably in the best shape I have ever been in. So during my travels in Bangkok, I really fancied whipping myself up into shape after months of indulging in spicy food and beer. This led me to explore different gyms in the area and some of them I managed to visit and now I can share them with you guys.

Sor Vorapin Muay Thai

Are you looking for a cheaper option to test out if the sport is really for you? This gym is perfect as they offer a 2-day training session with an overnight night stay in their hostel with your own private room for as little as £30.

A typical day at Sor Vorapin Muay Thai Gym involves waking up at 7 am and starting a 2-hour training session in the morning at 7.30am followed by breakfast at 9.30am with the whole team. After you have had a wind-down and relaxed with the team, that’s right you guessed it there is more training! The afternoon training session starts at 3 pm for another 2 hours of martial arts mayhem and again training session is followed by a meal with the whole team.

Not to worry if you find that Thai Boxing is not for you. One thing for sure is that you will love the food that is cooked by chefs who have 40 years experience. Although, we are sure you will have a great time. Everyone at this gym is fun and really helpful. This is a great place for beginners to learn and be put through their paces.

Top Fight Muay Thai

This one is the ultimate package if you are really looking to get into the sport and see a physical and mental improvement. Top Fight Muay Thai provides a 30-day training programme for £874. This may seem steep but you get a lot for your money. The price includes a single room in the gym’s luxury 5-star hotel, free access to Bangkok sky gym and pool.

Stepping Into The Ring With Singha!

From my experience, at Top Fight Muay Thai I can fully recommend this gym if you want to take things more seriously. After the 30-day training course, I could see a noticeable difference in my general fitness. Another improvement I saw was my confidence as a fighter as I felt like I could step into the ring anytime after the 30 days.

Although, as I was on my travels I decided to step into a local bar for a few rounds with Singha Beer. Unfortunately, Singha Beer won.
